Creative writing
Having achieved a master’s degree in creative writing with distinction, I’m currently a creative writing research student with the Sheffield Hallam University.
The purpose of my thesis is:
- To draw attention to the works of creative nonfiction whose goal is to illuminate understanding
- To examine the defining characteristics of nonfiction narrative that is illuminative in nature
- To consider if these works are of literary merit
- To propose a uniting term – illuminative nonfiction
- To consider if they are distinct from life writing (biographies and memoirs)

My blog (SurvivingEndometriosis.com / active 2015-2018) was named a top 30 blog in its category in 2018 and attracted nearly a quarter of a million views from readers across 100 countries.
My blog audience felt I could write ‘beautifully’ about difficult topics while ‘maintaining a hopeful, positive air’.
